Montessori Curriculum

"To consider the school as a place where instruction is given is one point of view. But to consider the school as a preparation for life is another" - Maria Montessori

The Montessori Approach

3 Year Cycle of Student Learning

Students remain in the same classroom for a three-year cycle, allowing for deep relationships, continuity of learning, and leadership opportunities.

Uninterrupted Work Time

Without frequent interruptions, students build focus, independence, and a strong internal work ethic.

Prepared Environment

Every material has a purpose and place, allowing children to navigate their environment confidently and take ownership of their learning.

Freedom Within Clear Limits

Children are given the freedom to choose their work and move independently within clear and consistent boundaries.

The Montessori Guide

Teacher Observation

The Montessori Guide carefully observes each child to understand their interests, strengths, and readiness.

Supports Individual Readiness

Each child progresses at their own pace. Rather than teaching the whole group the same lesson at the same time, the Guide tailors instruction to meet individual readiness and growth.

Encourages Self-discovery

Instead of providing answers immediately, the Montessori Guide presents materials and invites exploration. This approach nurtures curiosity, problem-solving, and confidence as children discover concepts for themselves.

Whole Child Education

Supports Whole Child Development

Montessori education nurtures academic growth alongside social skills, emotional regulation, and outdoor learning.

Holistic Curriculum

The Montessori curriculum weaves together Cosmic Education, Practical Life, Sensorial exploration, Math, Language, Geography, Cultural Studies, History, Art, Music, Outdoor Education, and Social-Emotional learning. Each area connects to the others, helping children understand themselves as part of a larger world.

Promoting Independence

As children learn to do things for themselves, they build confidence, self-discipline, and a strong sense of capability.

Montessori Materials

Purposefully Designed for Concept Mastery

Montessori materials are intentionally created to isolate one concept at a time, allowing children to focus deeply and master skills step by step.

Concrete to Abstract Progression

Students begin with hands-on, tactile materials that make abstract concepts visible and understandable before transitioning to paper-and-pencil work.

Built-In Control of Error

Many Montessori materials allow children to recognize and correct their own mistakes independently, fostering problem-solving and confidence.

Invites Repetition and Deep Concentration

The materials naturally invite repetition, giving children the freedom to practice until they feel confident and successful.
